Pogab is now an integral part of Gabon’s economic landscape and a reference model for Okoume wood peeling factories. |
The POGAB factory, ideally situated in the suburbs of Libreville, benefits from the proximity of the Trans-Gabon station for its log supplies and the port of Owendo for its production exports.
The site, built in 2000, is dedicated to Okoume veneer production and thus represents an essential addition to the French production sites of Lisieux and Fontenay-le-Comte. POGAB, equipped with 2 peeling lines and 2 drying lines, specialises in the production of all sizes of veneers.
The local workforce, led by European expatriates, uses working methods that satisfy PLYSOROL criteria, thus guaranteeing quality and productivity.
Okoume, which is mainly founded in Gabon’s tropical forest, is a wood species that should be worked with respect. The constant objective of promoting this raw material involves monitoring wood yields very strictly. In this same spirit, the waste is used as boiler fuel and the off-specification products for manufacturing shipping packages. |
