  ISO14001, Environment Management System

An Environment Management System based on the principle of continual improvement.

The international ISO 14001 standard, published in September 1996 and revised more recently (in November 2004), defines the requirements for environment management systems (E.M.S.).

Applied to PLYSOROL’s Gabonese forest concessions, it provides a policy and objectives in respect of legislative requirements and information on significant environment impacts.

DNV has approved the Environment Management System implemented by PLYSOROL/LEROY GABON and awarded it an ISO 14001 certificate.

It applies to the environmental aspects the organisation masters and on which it is supposed to have an influence.

In practice, this involves the implementation of 6 key elements :

  1. An environmental policy ;
  2. Planning ;
  3. Implementation and operation;
  4. A system of controls and corrective actions ;
  5. A management review ;
  6. An operation based on the principle of continual improvement ;

ISO 14001 certification is awarded after an audit and monitored by an approved external body.
